Calculating Shelf Area (For Vials)
1) Determine your tray dimensions. Enter the dimensions in the fields labeled “Tray Length” and “Tray Width”.
2) Determine the OD of your vial. Enter this dimension (in mm) for your vial in the field labeled “Vial OD”.
3) Enter the number of vials you wish to load per run in the field “Total Vials”.
4) Click the “Calculate” button next to "Total Vials". The fields for shelf area and number of trays will populate.
Calculating Total Vials based on Shelf Area
1) Determine your tray dimensions. Enter the dimensions in the fields labeled “Tray Length” and “Tray Width”.
2) Determine the OD of your vial. Enter this dimension (in mm) for your vial in the field labeled “Vial OD”.
3) Enter the number of trays you wish to load per run in the field “Number of Trays”.
4) Click the “Calculate” button next to "Number of Trays". The fields for Total vials and shelf space will populate.
Calculating Freeze Drying Capacity for Bulk Applications
1) Determine the total volume of material you wish to dry. Enter the volume (L) in the field labeled “Liquid Volume”.
2) Determine your fill thickness of the material to be dried. Enter this measurement (mm or in) for bulk product in the field labeled “Fill Thickness”.
3) Click the “Calculate” button next to "Freeze Dryer Capacity Calculator (Bulk)". The fields for Shelf Space will populate.
